DESCRIPTION:\n	Plus intermission. With Colin Farrell\, Angelina Jolie. Anth
ony Hopkins\, Rosario Dawson. Oliver Stone’s film about Alexander\, king o
f Macedonia and one of the greatest military leaders in history\, was one
of his most ambitious films. A few years after its initial release\, he re
visited the film and created a dramatically richer and more intense versio
n\, nearly 40 minutes longer. “Over the last few years I have been able to
sort out some of the unanswered questions about this highly complicated a
nd passionate monarch\, questions I had failed to answer dramatically enou
gh\,” said Stone. “This film represents my complete and last version.” Ind
 eed\, it takes a bolder\, more in-depth look at Alexander’s life\, intensi
fying both the beauty and brutality of his world. This will be the first t
heatrical screening in New York of Alexander: Revisited. Oliver Stone will
introduce the screening\, which will be followed by a conversation with S
alon film critic and Moving Image Source contributor Matt Zoller Seitz. \n

 \n	\n\n\n	A NOTE FROM OLIVER STONE:\n	\n\n\n	Dear Viewer\,\n\n\n	Why a thi
rd version of Alexander? The best answer I can manage is\, I couldn't get
it out of my system. It's a film that's been haunting me since the theatri
cal version first appeared in November 2004 in the U.S.\, followed by a Di
rector's Cut on DVD in July 2005.\n\n\n	But neither version was complete.
It wasn't an issue of right or wrong\, or good or bad\, but\, like an expe
riment\, one of trial and error. I believe this version now (3 1/2 hours)
is my clearest interpretation of Alexander's life.\n\n\n	For those who did
n't appreciated the original\, rest assured this is my last pass\, as ther
e is no more footage to be found. And for those of you who did like it\, p
lease share with me my passion for Alexander\, every sublime and awkward p
ixel of it.\n\n\n	And I still believe -- 'Fortune favors the bold.'\n\n\n
 Sincerely Yours\,\n\n\n	Oliver Stone\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	\n
