DESCRIPTION:\n	Introduced by Harriet Fields\, granddaughter of W.C. Fields
 \n	\n	Live music by Donald Sosin \n	\n	\n	Dir. Gregory La Cava. 1926. 67 m
ins. Restored 35mm print from the Library of Congress.&nbsp\;W.C. Fields s
tars as small-town New Jersey glazier Sam Bisbee with a potential million-
dollar invention on his hands in this surprisingly lyrical feature. In an
unmistakably Fieldsian plotline\, inebriation combines with over-confidenc
e to thwart his get-rich-quick scheme. With an irritated wife and a disapp
ointed crowd of investors on his hands\, Bisbee searches for another chanc
e to win the town over. The story was recycled for the 1935 film You’re Te
lling Me\, with Fields reprising the role of Bisbee.\n	\n\n\n	Please join
Harriet Fields for a celebratory toast after this screening at the Astor R
oom (the restaurant directly across the street from the Museum) located in
the former commissary of the movie studio where W.C. Fields worked in the
  1920s. Ticketholders receive 10% off.\n	\n\n\n	Tickets: $12 ($9 for senio
r citizens and students / free for members at the Film Lover level and abo
ve). Order tickets online. (Members may contact members@movingimage.us wit
h any questions regarding online reservations.)\n	\n\n\n	All tickets inclu
de same-day admission to the Museum (see gallery hours). View the Museum’s
ticketing policy here. For more information on membership and to join onl
