  early 1980s\, South Williamsburg's Los Sures was one of the poorest neigh
 borhoods in New York City. In fact\, it had been called the worst ghetto i
 n America. Shot in 1984\, Diego Echeverria’s film skillfully represents th
 e many challenges this place faced: drugs\, gang violence\, crime\, abando
 ned real estate\, racial tension\, single-parent homes\, and inadequate lo
 cal resources. At the same time\, the documentary also celebrates the vita
 lity of this largely Puerto Rican and Dominican community. \n	\n	\n	Ticket
