 set in 1969\, is a charming coming-of-age story about a lonely teenager wh
 o believes he is destined to play Holden Caulfield\, the main character of
  The Catcher in the Rye\, and has adapted the book as a play. After a seri
 es of increasingly hostile altercations with the boys at his school\, Jami
 e runs away to search for J.D. Salinger. On his way he picks up Deedee Gor
 lin\, a quirky young woman from his town. Their odyssey to find Salinger b
 ecomes a journey of sexual awakening\, the discovery of love\, and of the 
 meaning of one’s life. “We’ve seen other films about fans setting out to m
 eet a famous idol—a reclusive singer or movie star or writer\, for example
 . But few of these movies have the charm of Coming Through the Rye…It will
  definitely find an appreciative audience” (The Hollywood Reporter). \n\n
