DESCRIPTION:With Tatsuya Nakadai in person. Post-film discussion moderated
by critic Simon Abrams&nbsp\;\n\n\nDir. Kihachi Okamoto. Japan. 1967. 99 m
ins. 35mm print from the Japan Foundation with the permission of Toho. Wit
h Tatsuya Nakadai. This will be the fifth annual visit to the Museum by th
e legendary Japanese actor Tatsuya Nakadai. One of the greatest actors in
cinema history\, Nakadai has starred in movies by Akira Kurosawa\, Masaki
Kobayashi\, Kon Ichikawa\, and Mikio Naruse\, among many others. In the de
lightfully madcap spy thriller Age of Assassins\, Nakadai gives one of his
greatest comic performances\, evoking Jerry Lewis’s nutty professor as a
bumbling criminology professor with bad athlete’s foot and a deep affectio
n for his dead mother\, who transforms into a debonair spy. The cheerily c
onvoluted story line includes a diamond hidden inside a boy’s body\, eugen
ics\, Nazis\, and caged women. \n\n\nTickets: $15 (Free for members at the
Film Lover and MoMI Kids Premium levels and above). Order tickets online.
(Members may contact members@movingimage.us with any questions regarding
online reservations.) \n\n \n\nTicket purchase includes Museum admission
(see gallery hours). View the Museum’s ticketing policy here. For more inf
ormation on membership and to join online\, visit our membership page. \n
