 istory around some of its most ambitious achievements and helps to clarify
  the stakes of cinema as a twentieth-century art form. This illustrated ho
 ur-long lecture will address some of the core concerns of the book through
  discussion of films by Andrei Tarkovsky\, Béla Tarr\, and Jean-Luc Godard
  alongside paintings by Caspar David Friedrich\, Jacopo Tintoretto\, and M
 atthias Grünewald. Followed by a book signing in the Museum Store. \n	\n
