DESCRIPTION:Dir. Midi Z. 2011\, 85 mins. Digital projection. In Mandarin\,
Yunnan dialect\, with English subtitles. When Myanmar finally holds its fi
rst presidential election\, Xing-hong\, a Burmese construction worker in T
aiwan\, returns home with hopes that change will come to his country. Retu
rn to Burma was the first feature film shot in Myanmar. During the time of
filming\, Myanmar’s presidential election had just taken place. But democ
racy was far from thriving\, and the government only allowed limited forei
gn press into the country. As a result\, Midi Z had to shoot this semi-aut
obiographical homecoming story without official permission\, and only mini
 mal equipment and crew. \n\n\nTickets: $15 ($11 seniors and students / $9
