 tkov\, Yuriy Sviridenko. Truck driver Georgy (Nemets) sets out on a provin
 cial Russian highway for a routine delivery\, but after a series of chance
  encounters his journey spirals out of control. A roadside police check\, 
 a talkative war veteran\, and a too-young prostitute lead him to a village
  from which there appears to be no way out\, an unyielding\, elemental pla
 ce mired in the past. Loznitsa’s first fiction film was inspired by his ow
 n decade-long road travels through Russia\, and became an instant landmark
  of post-Soviet dystopia\, alternatingly fablist and realistic\, caustic a
 nd tragic.&nbsp\; \n\n\n	Followed by a live recording of the Film Comment 
 Podcast\, hosted by Nicolas Rapold (Editor in Chief\, Film Comment).&nbsp\
