DESCRIPTION:Please note: After purchasing/picking up your ticket at the Mus
eum's front desk\, please go to The Zukor Theater at Kaufman Astoria Studi
 os\, 34-12 36 St (enter on 35 St\, between 34 and 35 Ave). This theater is
without handicap accessible ramps.&nbsp\; \n\n	This is presented as a dou
ble-feature alongside Fraud. A single ticket to either film \n	\n	grants e
 ntry to both.&nbsp\; \n	\n	\n\n\n	With director Penny Lane in person\n\n\n
\n\n\n	Dir. Penny Lane. 2018. 71 mins. Digital Projection. Entirely sourc
ed from first-person YouTube videos\, the latest mind-bender from award-wi
nning documentarian Penny Lane is at once a body horror film and a radical
act of empathy. Lane tunnels down the online rabbit hole of people suffer
ing from Morgellons\, a mysterious skin illness with bizarre symptoms from
which tens of thousands claim to suffer\, but which the mainstream medica
l community claims isn't a real physical condition. The film focuses on th
e diaristic testimonies of three women who've sought explanations and supp
ort from a community of strangers. While the speculations and assertions t
hey pass among themselves may vary in plausibility\, the pain they're expe
riencing seems frightfully real—and as subjective as suffering itself. \n
 \n	\n	Preceded by:&nbsp\;Normal Appearances (Dir. Penny Lane\, 2018\, 5 mi
ns). Lane remixes footage from TV's The Bachelor to focus on the ambiguous
gestures of female contestants hyperconscious of our gaze.&nbsp\;\n\n\n
 \n	Tickets: $15 ($11 seniors and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / free fo
r children under 3 and Museum members at the Film Lover and Kids Premium l
evels and above). Order tickets online.&nbsp\;(Members may contact members
@movingimage.us with questions regarding online reservations.) \n	\n	\n	Ti
cket purchase includes same-day admission to the Museum (see gallery hours
). View the Museum’s ticketing policy here. For more information on member
ship and to join online\, visit our membership page. \n	\n
