DESCRIPTION:With Joe Bini and Maya Hawke in person \n\n\n	In this live cine
 ma performance\, Maya Hawke and Joe Bini use personal videos and photograp
 hs\, archival film clips\, and repurposed excerpts from feature films they
  have edited\, to enter into a dialogue with each other using film as thei
 r common language. Using a significant day in their lives as a launching p
 oint\, the piece explores the intersection of art and life\, looks into th
 e creative process of developing an idea for a film\, and touches on theme
 s of love\, sexuality\, and the distrust between women and men in the #met
 oo era. \n\n\n	Joe Bini is best known for his 25-plus year career as a fil
 m editor\, working in both fiction and non-fiction forms. He had a 20-year
  collaboration with Werner Herzog that resulted in 27 films. He has also w
 orked with Lynne Ramsay\, Andrea Arnold\, Nick Broomfield\, and others. Fi
 lms he edited have won numerous awards internationally\, including six Can
 nes Film Festival premieres. He has an Emmy award for non-fiction writing 
 and is developing an episodic narrative series. He co-wrote and directed A
  Thousand Thoughts\, a film/theater piece about the Kronos Quartet that de
 buted at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and is currently in performance w
 orldwide. \n\nMaya Hawke is the creator of the interactive social media vi
 deo novels Box of Birds and Currency of Despair. As a film editor\, she ha
 s cut ten feature-length documentaries\, including two with Werner Herzog.
  She has edited Apple commercials for Errol Morris and a critically acclai
 med series for the BBC about the Assad family of Syria. She was an advisor
  at the Sundance Edit and Story Lab 2018\, and a Sundance Nonfiction Direc
 tors Residency Fellow 2018. Maya is a New Zealand-American\, grew up in So
 utheast Asia and now lives in London. \n\n\n	This event is for Museum memb
