 scenes take place in the legendary Lugar a Dudas gallery\, founded by arti
 st Oscar Muñoz\, whose unsettling photographs or “Protographs” have been i
 ncorporated into the film. The story centers on a disease that developed i
 n the jungle\, where it lead to violent conflict that eventually infiltrat
 es Intended as a critique of the political condition of the country\, the 
 herpes-like contagion becomes both a catalyst for and a symbol for the spr
 ead of violence. It covers the skin of the protagonist\, who eventually lo
 ses his own identity as he multiplies himself into a troop of different se
