  talk with Dan Richter\, who is best known for his role as Moonwatcher\, t
 he man-ape\, in the opening sequence of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Od
 yssey. Richter has had a long career as a mime\, choreographer\, actor\, d
 irector\, producer\, and author. His book Moonwatcher’s Memoir (Carroll &a
 mp\; Graf\, 2001) is about his role in 2001. Richter’s 2012 memoir The Dre
 am Is Over (Quartet Books\, 2012) describes the years he spent living and 
 working with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. \n\nThe exhibition Envisioning 2001
 : Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey presents an in-depth exploration of the 
 story\, design\, and visual effects of the landmark film that\, more than 
 50 years after its release\, continues to influence\, confound\, and inspi
 re. The 70mm screening will be preceded by a conversation with Katharina K
 ubrick (Stanley Kubrick’s daughter)\, and 2001 actors Keir Dullea and Dan 
 Richter\, moderated by MoMI Director of Curatorial Affairs Barbara Miller.
