DESCRIPTION:\n	Would you like to learn how to create an archive of sounds t
 hat represent your neighborhood? By thoughtfully listening to the people a
 nd the ecosystem (natural and human-made) of our neighborhoods\, as well a
 s the culture at large\, we can gain deep insights into our roles as membe
 rs of our communities. Documenting sounds can give us a rich sense of lear
 ning\, discovery\, belonging\, and purpose. Lavender Suarez will lead a me
 dia workshop featuring basic audio recording techniques (known as field re
 cording) to assist you in becoming a sonic explorer in your neighborhood. 
 Participants will be guided to use their cellphone's audio recording featu
 re to take recordings during the workshop. Please bring headphones and mak
 e sure you have storage space available on your phone to hold the recordin
 gs. The workshop will feature a meditative sound bath\, and participants w
 ill help gather an archive of sounds\, which will be accessible on the MoM
 I website. \n	\n\n\n	Join MoMI in supporting our partner\, The Blue Bus Pr
 oject\, with this series of free outside media workshops around Queens\, c
 alled the The Blue Bus Mobile Media Lab. The Blue Bus Project is a nonprof
 it 501(c)(3) organization committed to bringing participatory arts events 
 into underserved communities around NYC\, heightening awareness and encour
 aging social and environmental change through visual art\, performance\, a
 nd interdisciplinary workshops. The field recording workshop &amp\; sound 
 bath with artist Lavender Suarez is the first event of this series and wil
 l be offered in English and Spanish. It will take place in Jackson Heights
 \, on 34th avenue between 93rd and 94th Street\, and is co-sponsored by Em
 erald Isle Immigration Center\, 34th Avenue Open Streets\, and Together We

  Project\, y se presenta en colaboracion con: La Esmeralda (Emerald Isle I
 mmigration Center)\, 34th Ave Open Streets\, Together We Can\, y el Museo
